What we collect, and what we do not.

Executive Signals publishes on LinkedIn. We operate no mailing list, sell no reader data, and collect only the minimum necessary to keep the lights on at executivesignals.org.

Version 1.0Effective Q1 2026Controller Editor in Chief

The summary.

Executive Signals publishes natively on LinkedIn. We do not operate a mailing list, do not require an email address to subscribe, and do not sell, share, or rent reader data. If you read us on LinkedIn, your data is governed by LinkedIn — not by us.

"We collect the minimum data necessary to publish. Where we do not need it, we do not ask for it."

What we collect.

On executivesignals.org — this website — we collect the smallest possible footprint:

  • Aggregate analytics. Page views, referring source, and country, via a privacy-respecting analytics provider. No personal identifier is stored.
  • Email correspondence. If you write to hello@executivesignals.org, we retain the conversation for as long as is operationally required.

On LinkedIn — where the brief is actually published — your data is collected and processed by LinkedIn under their privacy policy. Executive Signals receives only the aggregate engagement statistics that LinkedIn provides to all publishers (followers, reach, reaction counts). We receive no individual subscriber email addresses, phone numbers, or contact details.

Cookies & tracking.

Executive Signals takes a minimal-cookie approach. Nothing non-essential loads until you explicitly opt in. When you first visit the site you are presented with a banner offering three choices — Accept all, Reject all, or per-category Preferences. Your choice is stored locally on your device and respected on every subsequent visit. You can change your preferences at any time.

The categories are:

C1
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function — page state, security, language. Always on. No third-party cookies are set in this category.
C2
Analytics — only if you opt in
If enabled by you, Google Analytics 4 measures aggregate usage — page views, time on page, referrers. IP addresses are anonymised before processing. We never receive your name, email, or any identifying data through this channel. Provider: Google LLC. Retention: 14 months.
C3
Marketing — only if you opt in
If enabled by you, the LinkedIn Insight Tag attributes which campaigns lead readers to the brief. No personal profile is constructed by Executive Signals; LinkedIn processes the signal under its own privacy policy. Provider: LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company. Retention: per LinkedIn's terms.

If you reject everything, only strictly necessary cookies are set. There is no degraded mode, no nag screen, no second prompt.

Consent is recorded locally in your browser under the key es-consent-v1. Clearing your site data resets it and the banner will reappear on your next visit.

Your rights.

Under most data protection laws — including the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent regimes — you have the right to:

  • Access. Request a copy of any personal data we hold on you. Almost always, the answer is "we hold nothing."
  • Rectification. Correct any inaccurate data we hold.
  • Erasure. Request deletion of any data we hold on you.
  • Restriction. Restrict how we process your data.
  • Objection. Object to any processing you consider unlawful.
  • Complaint. File a complaint with the data protection or supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.

To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@executivesignals.org. We will respond within 30 days as required by law.

Children & jurisdictions.

Executive Signals is a publication for senior professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.

Wherever you read us, we aim to honour the data protection standards of your jurisdiction. Where this policy conflicts with stricter local law, the stricter law prevails.

Changes to this policy.

Material changes to this policy are dated at the top of this page and announced in the next edition of the Intelligence Brief. We do not bury policy changes in fine print.
